Our Impact
Carving Change for People, Communities & Nature
At Woodcrafters, recording impact is at the heart of everything we do. Each programme is designed to improve wellbeing, strengthen communities, and restore connection to the natural world. We track outcomes carefully, listen to participants, and share what we learn so that the benefits of craft and nature can reach as widely as possible.
The Challenges
Many individuals face significant barriers to accessing nature, craft-based learning, and wellbeing activities that support mental health. Social isolation, financial constraints, and stigma prevent participation, while cuts to mental health services and a lack of accessible social prescribing options leave people without vital support. Bio-diversity and habitat loss is causing a rapid depletion in the earth’s resources. Community-led peer support and hands-on therapeutic activities are often costly, making it even harder for individuals to access help, connect with nature, build resilience, develop skills, and improve their wellbeing.

“Woodcraft for Wellbeing is an extraordinary initiative that combines the restorative power of mindfulness, creativity, and community. Sitting together, sharing stories, and quietly working side by side nurtures a sense of belonging and safety. This experience promotes resilience, reduces stress, and fosters a renewed sense of purpose.”

The Bigger Picture
Our impact doesn’t end in the woods. Every programme is carefully evaluated — recording outcomes, reflecting on learning, and continuously improving practice. By combining insights across wellbeing, education, and the environment, we are growing the evidence base for craft-for-wellbeing. Through training facilitators, publishing outcomes, and sharing knowledge with partners, Woodcrafters mission is to establish craft and nature-based practice as a recognised and valued part of public mental health, education, nature recovery & community development.
